While tromping around the old Bar BC Ranch, I found some hops growing near one of the cabins. Was someone making beer out there?

driveway rainbow

This rainbow appeared yesterday evening. I snapped a shot as I was getting into my car to drive to the elk refuge to look for a better foreground than the nieghbors’ houses.  By the time I got three blocks from the house, the rainbow was gone… Too bad.

guess who’s back

The owls were back this morning (at least the two adults were). I have rarely seen them both in the same tree with an opportunity to catch them both in one shot. Unfortunately it was so dark that I couldn’t stop the lens down far enough to get them both in focus. Bummer.

It’s too bad it was so dark, I had to use a shutter speed of only 1/30 second so it was impossible to get a super sharp shot of the owl squawking at me. It turned out OK though.
