White Birds

Speaking of white birds… I’ve been reading about all of the Snowy Owls heading south into the U.S.  If anyone has any info on where to actually find these cool critters within driving distance of Jackson, please let me know. I want to photograph them BAD.

No owls reported near Jackson, I’m afraid. I don’t know if you’re familiar with eBird but they have an interactive map which allows you to search for sightings of individual species and you can narrow your search with a time frame.

You may also want to watch a few threads for birding in Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana. I’m not sure how far you’d want to travel in order to see a Snowy but here’s what I’ve been able to pull together for you.

Best of luck and happy birding!
